SAUNA BY

Custom built retreats for restoration, reflection and ritual

A Return to Ritual

Over a decade ago, in the quiet forests of Uzava, Latvia, I sat in my first traditional wood-fired sauna. It was tucked along a winding riverbank, not far from the Baltic Sea. I was there as part of a small construction team helping to build a summer camp, but what I left with was something much more lasting: a profound respect for the restorative, grounding power of sauna. Steam rolled off hot stones, washing over our tired bodies. We sat shoulder to shoulder with Latvian friends, sharing stories, passing around bottles of frozen birch water, laughing through clouds of heat and stillness. We’d jump into the icy river, float under stars, and then return to the fire. I had never experienced anything like it.

That first sauna didn’t just teach me how to sweat. It taught me how to slow down. How to breathe. How to reconnect—with myself, with others, and with the natural world around me.

It’s a tradition I’ve carried with me ever since.

What We Build

At SpaceCraft, we design and build custom saunas with craftsmanship, precision, and intention.

Whether you’re seeking an interior sauna integrated into your home, a standalone backyard retreat, or a hybrid space paired with a cold plunge or outdoor shower, we’ll help bring it to life.

We work with:

  • Wood-fired and electric sauna systems

  • Traditional hot rock and modern infrared styles

  • Interior and exterior installations

  • Custom benches, cladding, lighting, and ventilation systems

  • Complementary wellness spaces including cold plunges, changing rooms, and integrated outdoor landscapes

Each project begins with a conversation: about your goals, your rituals, your climate, and how this space can serve your life—not just in winter, but year-round.

Why Sauna?

Because wellness isn’t a trend—it’s a lifestyle.

Saunas support detoxification, circulation, recovery, and sleep. But beyond the physical, they offer something much deeper: A quiet place to recalibrate. A space to gather. A ritual you can return to again and again.

Whether you’re finishing a long workday, hosting friends, recovering from a training session, or simply seeking a place to be still, your sauna becomes more than a luxury. It becomes a rhythm.

Seattle and the surrounding areas offer the perfect conditions for sauna culture. Long winters, damp air, and quiet wooded lots are made for fire, heat, and steam. A custom sauna turns your backyard into a true sanctuary—one that doesn’t rely on summer weather or long weekends away.

We’ve built saunas for families, athletes, creatives, and everyday people looking for something more meaningful than another room addition. Something elemental. Something alive.
